WHY?????

If you clicked this link, you are no doubt wondering why I made this site. Well, the answer is actually quite simple.  A few years ago, I bought the excellent  Dave Barry's Book of Bad Songs and found it to be one of the funniest things I had ever read. In case you never read it {you DEFINATLY should}, it is a short 88-page laugh a sentence book on bad songs, as sent into him by readers through a Bad Song Survey, which he said got an unbellivibly huge responce. Each chapter focused on a certaint bad song genre, Worst Songs Ever Recorded, Weenie Songs, Songs That Women hate, ect. and he divided them into sub-catagories, then wrote a funny comment or two about each. A few years, and about 4 re-reads of the book had passed and I heard of a TV show called Mystery Science Theater 3000, which, incase you don't already know features either Mike or Joel and the 'bots as they make fun of really bad movies sent to them by the Mads.  Needless to say, this is my favorite show, and I soon became a die-hard MSTie.  One fateful day, I was bored, so I decided to search the web for information about MST.  One of the sites I stumbled upon had a link to Jabootu's Bad Movie Dimension. I saw the site and was inspired by it, so I decided to do something like that, but since movies were already taked by numerous sites, I thought back to Dave Barry's Book of Bad Songs and decided my site should be about bad songs. So I started the original Anekalacheego's Dinension ofBad Songs (now the Bad Song Asylum) on a Yahoo! free site.  Instead of a sentence or two, I would elaborate on and write several paragraphs about one different song every week, then save that onto a floppy disk to make room for a new one.  After awhile, I saw that one page was not going to be enough, so I went onto Tripod, and that's where I stand today.
You now may be thinking 'Ok, now I know how he did it, and why he picked bad songs, but still, WHY????'  The reason is beacuse everyone knows about bad songs. They stay in your brain, and hold your thoughts hostage until either you repeatedly slam your head into a car door, or else listen to it again.  I'm giving you a third option.  At ADBS, you can, instead of doing any of those crazy things, hear someone who feels your pain and will dedicate time and effort, not only to put that song into it's place, but maybe also to get it unstuck. Maybe. If that doesn't work, you can at least, hopefully laugh at the song, and hopefully, at the end of the day, I have made your day out in this cruel, heartless world a little bit brighter, and your mood at least a little bit more cheerful.  In short, I started this site as a tax-deductable public service.
